Atticus was waiting for the verdict when all of the jury came out. They handed a slip of paper that made its way to the judge. "Guilty" exclaimed the judge. The verdict has been said and their wasn't any way to further debate Tom Robinson's sentence. "Were are they taking Mr.Robinson to Atticus" I remember inquiring.
"Tom is going to Enfield Prison Farm his chances were slim to none."
"Why?"
"Because, we lost, the jury voted that Mr.Robinson was guilty."
"But Mr.Robinson couldn't have done it" Jem butted in.
"I know, sometimes we just have to accept it."
With that I went to bed. The hole day waiting to hear the case, I was tired.
What happened a few days later was a shock to everyone, Tom tried to escape. Atticus took us to the Hospital were Tom Was at. "Now, mind your manners when we are with Tom Robinson" Atticus said before going to the front desk to ask what room he was being held. He was wide awake when we were shown into the room. "Hello Tom" Atticus said curtly.
"Hello sur"
"Why?"
"Why what Mr.Finch?"
"why did you try to escape we could have had it appealed"
"Sometimes we just has to take a leap."
"But, Why?!"
"I knew i'da never made it"
"Yes you could have, a slim chance is a chance."
"We both know that I'da never made it."
"You shouldn't talk like that" I joined in.
"Scout you still a youngin you don't know how the world works."
"Scout stop, let them talk" Jem said quietly to me.
As he said this we realized something was wrong with Tom Atticus shoved us out and called for doctors. I saw them roll Tom's body out, i didn't realize that he was dead.
